Current Inspiration

This piece is approximately 12"wide x 36"long and features hand-made beads, (faux)black bear fur, and a strap of my husbands belt!  The petroglyphs at the top, listed from left to right, stand for mutual responsibility, peace and communication between the tribes.

This piece is apperoximately 24"wide x 36" long.  It features my husbands jeans and belt buckle. The question I always ask people who look at this is "What is the difference between change and transformation?"

I made this piece with the "Red Hat ladies" in mind. It measures approximately 12"wide x 36"long.  Burlap makes wonderful place to hang pins and earrings.  As with all of my projects, this piece is one of a kind.

This is one of the first pieces I ever made.  It measures approximately 24"wide x 36"long.  All of the beads were made by hand.  The phrase "Thanks for Pink Days" is mounted on pink tissue paper and denim.  It also features hand-made paper and lace.

  This piece is approximately 12"wide x 36"long.  It features sunshine orange burlap, hand-made beads, copper, passion fruit seeds spell out Cultivate, a pocket from my husbands denim jeans and six leather tags inside the pocket which read: hope, love, joy, courage, peace and faith. I made this project when I was trying to answer the question "What am I supposed to be doing?".

There is a little secret note under the flap on the pocket. :)

This piece is approximately 20"wide x 20"long.  It features denim, blue burlap, (faux)silver beads and pink, silk flowers from a hawaiian lei.

This is project is approximately 24"wide x 36"long.  It features hand-made beads, raw cotton, peacock feathers, a half-made palm rosette for a nose and a piece of birch bark I unrolled by soaking it in hot water over a period of 4 days.  Smile!

This project measures approximately 12"wide x 24"long.  It features hand-made beads, batique cotton fabric, denim, corduroy and passion-fruit seeds that spell out Recognize.  I made this with the express purpose of reminding myself "What is the most important part of being lucky?    Recognizing it!"

This project is approximately 12"wide x 24"long. It features purple and green burlap, denim, and batique cotton.  The beads are all hand-made.  The curly things dangling from it are seed pods I found in my front yard in Brasil.  My gardener thought I was nuts for picking them up because he considers them garbage! The coolest thing about them is that they open when the humidity is high, and then they curl when the humidity goes down.  It's kind of like they're alive!  Neat, huh?!

This project is on display for inspiration only.  If this looks like something you want, let me know.  This project is hanging from a pool cue my husband busted  one night and I just HAD to do something cool with it.  This project measures 36"w x 48"l.  The burlaps is dyed sunshine orange and embellished with hand-made beads, purple ribbon and a black feather boa.  There is a quote from Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song in the center mounted on copper and denim that reads "for feast and trust again win the day, despite all your losing".  Below, in tiny letters it says "What was the question?"   The petroglyphs surrounding this quote each have their own meanings.  Starting at the top center and going counter clock-wise, they represent;  the settlement, stability, cooperation, joy & appreciation, the Creator's command is being followed and fulfilled, a shield to protect the settlement, wisdom, and mutual responsibility. 

The Tiger (meek) symbolizes unconditional confidence, disciplined awareness, and gentle modesty; resting in a relaxed yet energized state of being with a natural sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.  Measures 18" x 18" 

The Snow Lion (perky) represents unconditional cheerfulness, a mind free of doubt, clear and precise.  Perky has a youthful, vibrant energy of goodness and a natural sense of delight.

The Sky Dragon ( inscrutable) enjoys resting in the sky among the clouds.  It is energetic, powerful and unwavering, yet gentle and playful.  It represents  spontaneous acheivement, elegance and equanimity.

In heaven the Turqoise Dragon thunders the sound of compassion that awakens us from delusion.  Dragons hae the power of complete communication.  Displaying this banner is said to enhance one's fame and reputation. 

The Garuda (outrageous) is daring and fearless.  Possessing great strength and power, it soars beyond the beyond.  It symbolizes freedom from hopes and fears.
